As climate change worsens and global action to cut emissions falls short, the ocean has become a critical part of the solution for humanity’s future. Led by Professor Jiao Nianzhi, Chief Scientist of the Global ONCE program and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the guidance compendium The Global ONCE Compendium: From Science to Governance has been completed. It systematically presents ONCE’s research advances, core methods, and governance frameworks, including roadmaps, charters, guidelines, member tasks, and key terms, offering scientific and practical guidance for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. As a key contributor, OLAR collaborated closely with Global ONCE to promote the application and global dissemination of these outcomes.
